Fast and Easy Garlic Parmesan Zuchinni Boats!

I’m trying to focus on squash and gourds for Fall and all the terrific recipes. I just made these zucchini boats! Very low calorie, filling and fast and easy!

Ingredients:

  1. Green Zucchinis.
  2. Shredded Parmesan cheese.
  3. Minced Garlic.
  4. Salt & Pepper.

PREP:

  1. First wash your zuchinni and cut in half.
  2. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over your zuchinni.
  3. Salt, pepper and season to your desire! I added some chopped garlic to mine!

BAKE:

  1. Roast uncovered in the oven at 375 degrees for 15 -20 minutes.
  2. Remove when cheese has melted and is slight golden brown on the edges. Zuchinni should be soft but not mushy. You get a slight little bit of crunch when you bite or cut.
  3. Let sit for a few minutes so the cheese can set as they cool.

Baking tips!

  1. Layer cheese layer first.
  2. Do not use spray oil.
  3. Bake uncovered.
  4. Rotate tray half way through.
  5. Try to use the same size of zucchini for even baking or take small ones out first and continue to bake the larger ones.
  6. If your cheese slides after baking cut your boat into smaller pieces.

Welcome to My Journey…

This blog is dedicated to my journey towards wellness, health, music, performing and creativity. As a lifetime musician, I have spent thousands of hours on the piano bench, in the practice room, in the classroom, studying, practicing, exercising my talents and mind and ignoring my body and the connection between my body, mind and my music.

I think as trained musicians, we all go through this. We spend so much time in our heads, in our “zone”, in practice and study and very little is taught to us about taking care of our wellness and health. We are just expected to know how to do, to be able to find this balance in the constant chaos of our lives. In reality,  many of us struggle with it. “I’ll do it tomorrow, I have so much to get done today.” Years go by and we are still struggling.

My hope is to turn this around for myself and my students and anyone else who feels this way as well. I hope to help create a new awareness in musicians to help them find balance in wellness, health and talents. Body should always be first, followed by mind and then the creation of music begins.  It’s so simple, but yet many of us don’t know how to do it.

Here’s to your ultimate health and wellness as performers and musicians. Let’s not ignore our bodies and our health anymore. We cannot be at our maximum potential on stage until we create balance in our lives and in our minds and bodies.
